Comparative Study on Egg Characteristics of Yoruba Ecotype Nigerian Local Chickens and Isa Brown Chickens Fed Graded Levels of Moringa oleifera Seed Meal

چکیده

Background: Moringa oleifera seed meal is a potential noble feed ingredient that could be incorporated into the diet of poultry. It cheaper alternative considering its ability to thrive under all climatic conditions in Nigeria, West Africa. The study was aimed at evaluating effects dietary inclusion (MOSM) on egg characteristics, conversion ratio and body weight parameters Yoruba Ecotype Nigerian Local Chickens (YENLC) Isa Brown chickens. Methods: assessed comparative influence MOSM characteristics YENLC Data obtained were subjected analysis variance using general linear model procedure Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 22. Result: findings this that: affected Egg length, width, yolk height decreased significantly (p less than 0.05) with increasing levels MOSM. There significant interaction between genotypes For both genotypes, number higher till 5% level while hen day production reduced can thus concluded included up 10% but would still perform better 15% when compared hens.
